In 2009, Lyle McDonald was invited to speak at the BC Recovery, Regeneration and Rehabilitation Conference.
Lyle is a researcher and coach who has worked with bodybuilders, powerlifters and other athletes on all aspects of their training, diet, and supplementation.
Lyle obtained a degree in exercise physiology from the University of California in Los Angeles, graduating in 1993. He has dedicated nearly 20 years of his life to studying human physiology and the art, science, and practice of human performance, muscle gain, fat loss, and body recomposition.
Lyle is the author of several books including The Protein Book, The Rapid Fat Loss Handbook and the book/DVD combo Applied Nutrition for Mixed Sports. If you coach a mixed sport (i.e. where you need both speed/power AND endurance, such as soccer and boxing) then Applied Nutrition for Mixed Sports is a good starting point for performance requirements and optimizing nutrition.

The full presentation is 90 minutes long, in 3 parts below.
Lyle McDonald on Nutrition and Recovery Part 1/3
NOTE: The volume on the Lyle’s introduction by Derek (i.e. the first 3 minutes) is poor because the recording microphone is on Lyle. Don’t worry, the audio of the Lyle’s presentation is crisp and clear.
